I'm sure we've all done it from time to time -- trying to get somewhere new, you've encountered heavy resistance from the locals and died a terrible death. Refusing to give up, you've run back to your corpse and continued on, until you're caught and killed again. Perhaps you thought you'd be smart and run to the spirit healer in your destination zone, far off from where you died, only to tragically see that you've been sent back to the location of the spirit healer closest to your corpse. This does make traveling through areas high above your level quite the challenge -- as I'm sure they were intended to be. Die, run back, rez a bit further down the road -- then simply wash, rinse, and repeat until you've reached your final destination. However, over at Mania's Arcana, Mania provides us with two tricks that will allow you to do the majority of your traveling as a ghost. The trick? If you die on one continent and then spirit rez in the other (yes, you can ride boats and zepplins as a ghost!), you'll be allowed to rez right where you want to. And, perhaps more conveniently, if you run as a ghost to wherever you wish, disconnect, reconnect, and then try to spirit rez, you'll be allowed to.
Now, both of these little tricks smack of overlooked bugs, as the intended behavior of the game client is clear. But at present it is a working strategy in-game that can be used to more quickly move you from point A to point B.

I've always called that an RRD loop. Run, Rez, Die, loop. I've found myself doing that sometimes when I'm trying to solo a yellow or orange quest. :)

What I found useful was when running to a new zone to die as soon as I zone in, then res at the spirit resser.
9 out of 10 times the SR is right beside your town, allowing you to get the FP and cuts out an irritating amount of dodging the locals.
Gonna have to remember the D/C Trick, that could be handy when I have no friendly warlocks handy.

That is a very useful insight, I hadn't realized that you could D/C and reconnect and then rez, although I knew about the instance border allowing you to rez on the other side.

No tricks need in AV, though. You can die, run to any healer, and rez... Helps bypass the alliance at IBGY so you can get to the front lines.

Bearing in mind that you know this is probably a bug and not the intended client behaviour, then making use of it is surely the definition of an exploit? I realise that this one is fairly harmless, but I wonder where you'd draw the line? Articles on how to exploit in battlegrounds? How to dupe gold?

First let me say to Shugyosha, IT'S JUST A GAME! Yes, we are going to exploit a glich if it saves us travel time. We have all wasted too many hours getting from point A to point B to not exploit a short cut. I wouldn't exploit a glich that helped me cheat in a BG. (although there are plenty that do) But, one that only me and doesn't cause someone else hardship, WHY NOT?
Second, I am going to have to try this!
