This is probably old hat to spellcloth tailors out there, but after the patch, crafting spellcloth is now spawning two Netherwraiths instead of just one. This seems to be tough for certain classes, particularly mages, to handle.
There's no information on whether this is a planned feature for 2.1.0 or a known bug, but for now, WOW Insider recommends that you create your cloth by the new guards in Area 52, who WILL help you post-patch.

What? No obligatory blog pic?! Let me guess: Next expansion, we finally get to visit, and fly in, the planes at the Ironforge airport.
How's that for random, middle of the night comments? :p

another problem I found, if you get guards to fight with/for you, you don't get to loot them and miss out on the motes. Oh, and another thing, always make your spellcloth on the mainland, not one of the floating islands. you can't get back to your body way out there.

It'd've been nice to have the change in the patch notes. (Missed it if it was.) First time was one of those oh #$!@#$!# moments.
Rough going as a mage but can also likely pull a primal mana out of the pair and farming mana sucks anyway. Gotta be a world of hurt for a holy priest.
There is a slight delay on the summon. If you do it right on top of the fp can fly away and lose the chance to grab the motes. There are other ways to escape. Or kill one for the motes and die (good trade). Or solo both. Or bring a friend every fourth day. Seems fair all around.
That the creator of the thread is a mage and goes to Ashenvale to make primal mooncloth is pretty darn funny. The teleport to Darn lands you two steps from a moonwell. A huge one.

As a warlock i took these boys out easily before patch so i thought to myself after rezing a death on some mobs that i would just kill the dude and head on to shattrath...50% hp 50% mana. Totally unprepared 2 spawned on me and i died annoyed because i knew i could take them out still...just wasnt ready for it :D so prepare out there before making your spellcloth :D

The guy who goes back to Ashenvale (or Azeroth for that matter) is retarded. There is a moonwell in Zangarmarsh, right in the middle of the Cenarion Expedition place.

Yes, let the guards rob you of your motes.
Just get a friend to come along, motes for everyone.

its actually easy for mages. My lvl 60 mage just runs away from them like he did before 2.1 and it works fine =)

Protip: Stormspire guards are less lazy than the ones at Area 52. Get a good AoE off and you got cha motes.

Simple solution for mages. This comes from experience too.
Step 1: Buff up
Add dampen magic and mana shield to the list of usual buffs you can put on yourself.
Step 2: Craft in a secure spot
Craft this near the 2 ogre guards outside of the arena rewards building. They will agro the 2 arcane elementals and will net them.
Step 3: The evasion
As soon as it's created and you hear them spawn, frost nova and blink towards the inn. You can enter the in and avoid any damage. You can step out and counter spell one and slight dps while ducking back into the inn right before they cast on you cancel out their spell via line of sight issues.
This is the easiest mote farming out there.

There is a moonwell in terrokar as well. That's usually where I make my primal mooncloth since i'm in Shatt a lot.

For the warlocks out there:
First: Soulstone, healthstone, pot, and bandages (just in case)
I like to have a voidwalker out to pull aggro from both asap. Then I banish one of them. VW will have aggro from other one. DoT up and nuke the 1st one till dead. Bandage, healthstone, Have VW Consume Shadows etc and get a little distance as needed until the banish wears off. Once the banish is complete, take down the second one just like the first.
Since I don't know many other classes, I would just offer half the motes looted to someone else if they helped me out. You could end up looting 12 motes total from killing both so it's completely worth it.

Those things are pretty tough for mages even when there is just the one, much less two. Other clothies can at least fear and locks can banish one. We just have to take the blows and hope to blow them up before they get us. I got my face smashed in

Some time ago I just started flying to the little islands in the sky above Area 52. As I am a Holy spec'd priest they were a bit of a pain to kill. I craft spellcloth up there... fear bomb the spawns and then jump. I then levitate to Area 52 and go about my day.
