I'm with you Amanda - I just got my Drakefire Amulet last week... so if anyone ever wants to pay Onyxia a visit for old times sake? >.< And I don't have the heart to vendor my Wildheart/Feralheart/Zandalar bits either... Hell, I still have the Emberstone Staff from my first Deadmines run. O.o

This happened to me after I solo'd Omokk for my final gem a few weeks ago. I got the stuff for Emberstrife but ran out of the 5 charges before I could successfully complete it (yes, I fail). Vaelan wouldn't talk to me when I went back (perhaps because our guild had Vael on farm? lol). I petitioned a GM and they referred me to the Quests forum. I finally found a post describing the fix (a new Unadorned Seal) so I ground one of those up.

Long story short, Vaelan gave me another batch of the stuff you need to go fire the key, so off I went and solo'd Emberstrife again - successfully this time - and I finally have my key.

I think that with every expansion they should remove the old attunements and keys required for the old.

For example, my guild is working on Prince Malchezzar in Karazhan, but may never see the inside of Naxxramas, because no one is going to take the time to be attuned to the old instance. We'd like to have fun there on raiding off-nights, but it's impossible due to the attunement requirements.

Do away with those as each new expansion is released. Can you imagine how many people are going to want to go to Karazhan after the next expansion, or SSC, or the Black Temple? Not likely if they have to get keyed. Might as well make some small use out of them, even if they don't introduce "Heroic" mode for old dungeons.

@James and while they're at it, just make old Tier sets purchaseable for like maybe 1g. And, um, have a GMmode you can turn on so if they're kind of hard you can just walk through to see the content.

I hit the endgame about a month before it became midgame, so I've only seen ZG once and Hakkar was bugged. I got in a run at Onyxia and a run through MC, but only saw the very beginning of BWL. I'd like to see some of the content I missed. I may still do the Naxx attunement as I think it's mostly a cost of admission thing, not like Onyxia's long questline.

Your suggestion sounds like: "It's not worth it to me to earn my way in, so you should just give it to me so I'll go anyway." If you don't care enough to do an attunement, why bother going at all? Most of my guild is keyed for all the old raids, but has 0 interest in going still. Once BC raiding gets kind of stale, I think we'll probably go back for fun though...and to catch some content people like myself missed out on.

This brings up a question I've had since I started about a month ago.

Since I came in post-TBC, I don't get why these places of legend and lore are now obsolete! These locales, from what I've read, are mind-boggling experiences that I've been drooling to have since I stepped into the World of Warcraft!

So, I ask, why doesn't anyone want to do them anymore?!?!?!? It's heartbreaking really. Everyone talks about them with such nostalgia...as if they're gone for good...

Let's see if we can help a bit with this. Most of the lack of interest in the older content stems from this need for constant progression with many players. A lot of people see the game as something to be beaten, despite WoW being an MMO. Therefore once there is new or more difficult content, the old content becomes obsolete in their mind. I have known several players that quit the game because they "beat" it. It's not fair for people just entering the game, I agree, nor for those of us that haven't had the chance to get into those 40 man raiding dungeons yet.

But take heart, like Smithra mentioned, many players will go back to the older content once they've whipped Illidan enough times to be bored of him. It will take a while, but I bet it will happen if you just hang in there.

i am in the same boat
i started playing in early February, and ive got a character at 55 (and a few low level alts), and im pretty sure i will not get to see anything cool that's 55+ except in Outlands

My buddy and I both went and got the UBRS key (Pally and Hunter Combo). About 5 minutes after getting the key, we started to see LFG messages for UBRS, with a NEED KEY attached. It was a group of 3 62-65's. We charged them for opening the door, and then joined the group. I - the Ret Pally - tanked the instance without blinking an eye, and we cleared every mob in there in record time. I wish I would have actually recorded the time, but am going to guess we cleared it in around 40-45 minutes with all mobs (remember, it is only 5 people and only two of us were 70...no actual tank (Ret is not a tank regardless what other Rets might think).

I didn't get my Mara "Scepter of Celebras" until well after I hit 70, and I was willing to run a lowbie pug through the whole instance just to get it. It gives me some closure to know that I could bypass orange and purple if needed, even if it's at the cost of a bank slot.

I'm also quite proud of my Key to Searing Gorge.
