In every public test realm, there are those brave souls who go out and try to grind factions, kill bosses, and do long questlines for rewards that will not be transferred to their main characters. Aalhi of Kael'Thas is one of those brave souls. He's decided to head over to Skettis and start doing some of the Sha'Tari Skyguard reputation quests to see what they're like. So far, he's gotten a few quests involving killing mobs for reputation, feeding a nether ray, drinking a potion and killing named mobs, retrieving a prisoner's pack, assembling a book and turning into an arakkoa. Sounds like a pretty neat new place to quest, but the most interesting part of Aalhi's information is the reputation rewards.
At exalted with Sha'Tari Skyguard, you get a nether ray flying mount (and yes, you do need 300 riding skill already. Sorry.) You can also buy two nice cloaks -- one for melee, one for casters -- that have decent stats and a use of reducing your fall speed for 10 seconds. There are some fun buyable foods at friendly reputation: one that restores 2148 health and 4410 mana and one that restores 7500 HP and gives you 30 stamina and 20 spirit for half an hour. The real prizes of Skyguard rep, according to Aalhi, are the two trinkets you can get at exalted:
"Airman's Ribbon of Gallantry:
Equip: Improves spell critical rating by 31
Equip: 30% chance to increase your spell damage and healing by 80 when you kill a target that gives experience or honor. This effect cannot occur more than once every 10 seconds.
Skyguard Silver Cross:
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 31
Equip: 30% chance to increase your attack power by 140 when you kill a target that gives experience or honor. This effect cannot occur more than once every 10 seconds."
Niiiice. What do you think? Will you be grinding Skyguard or Netherwing rep in the next patch, or trying to get to the Black Temple?

Hmmmm... Skettis
I ran into these guys over in Shattrath City. I wonder if the fact that these guys resemble the Skeksis in the movie The Dark Crystal was just an accident?

Nether Ray mount? Sweet....
As for black temple, seeing as the top guilds haven't finished The Eye yet, let alone Mount Hyjal, I doubt anyone's going to be in there very soon.

Seeing as I wont have the money for the epic riding skill for some time, I think I will be seeing a lot of Skettis in my future. I like that melee trinket a lot, it will pair well twith the Hourglass!

Wow those trinkets are so.... terrible. Grind to exalted for a trinket that is only helpful for more grinding?

Druids have it easy in this next patch compared to the alternative, just a long quest chain (and waht ican only assume some money into reagents), and a run through shek halls and *poof* flying form at 280% speed with an automatic upgrade to 375 riding skill.....and even if its not and automatic upgrade, *pft* 280% flying speed as an instant cast, nice lil get away plan ^-^. Now i wish Blizz gave druids and epic land travel form...oh well, cant win them all.

@8 Just to claify, no, we don't get an auto upgrade to 300 flying. We have to pay the 5000g for 300 flying BEFORE we cant even pick up the quest for epic flight form.

@UberOomkin--Awwww T.T if thats true then, actually we have it worse than everyone else. Either pay 200g for the epic mount or do a long quest chain and instance run for the flying form, hmmmm hard choice (yeah right). But nothing is set in stone yet, so hopefully Blizz will simply make the obtaining of the epic flying form a matter of long quest chain and instance run...hopefully.

@Lunada Yeah, I know what you mean. I got my info from the Druid forums. Theres an official post from Druids on the PTR that are figuring out the quest, but the first thing they said was if you didn't have 300 riding the quest won't even pop up for you. It makes the epic riding form seem more like a novelty or status symbal. I'll probably end up buying the epic flying mount till I can make my way through the quest. :D

Blizzard aren't going to give Druids 5000g for the hell of it.
It's still better because 1, they look awesome, 2, you can change while in freefall.

Regarding Skyguard Silver Cross:
http://www.thottbot.com/i28034
Hourglass of the Unraveller
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 32 (1.4%@70).
Equip: Chance on critical hit to increase your attack power by 300 for 10 secs.
It procs quite often on my rogue.
PS: Yeah, it's a drop in Black Morass, but you time you invest is kinda the same I think.
