brkn_doll over at WoW Ladies rolled a Draenei shammy to join up in her friends' guild, and when she picked up the tabard for it, she saw... well, unless you're color blind, you can't miss it*. As she says, she looks like a pumpkin.
What do you do when you finally put on a guild tabard, only to find that you wish you could take it back off again? For April Fool's Day, my guild leader turned our tabard hot pink, which I actually thought looked kind of good on my female Blood Elf mage. My shaman wouldn't have looked good in it, but he's wearing the Tabard of the Protector anyway, so there's one option: get a new tabard.
Not all of them are bad-- my gnome warrior was in a guild for a while with a blue and gold tabard, and that little minitank looked good. Have you ever confronted a guild leader about their bad tabard choices? Or if you're a guildleader, what made you choose your tabard colors? If they're orange and green, you should probably just go ahead and pay the 10g to fix it, because if doll's experience is any indication, it's hard to look like a badass when you're wearing a pumpkin.
*Because I know someone will ask, her strikingly clean UI is apparently built with Tet's UI. You're welcome.

My Bank-alt guild has the best tabards ever.
Black, Big pile of money, and gold trimming.
Propper outfit for The Bankers Guild.

I belong to a top PvP guild, and our gm's girlfriend changed ours to hot pink with green twisted snakes on it. We never got around to changing it back and it's been that way ever since. Just last week I got 2 compliments on it while instancing. Haha!
Most of the guild wears those pink tabards, or we wear the exalted bg tabards we all earned while grinding our ranks under the old honor system. You don't see those much at all anymore.

Our talbard (Planet Express - Terenas H) makes us look like the Queens card men from Alice in Wonderland... Red piping, white background with the big Ace of Spades... It looks better then my old guild of "Green Panthers"...

I used to wear my guild's tabard but then noticed that my dwarf's beard covered the whole guild logo up. That meant I only saw the tabard from the waist down which was worthless. So I took it off and have not put another on because there is no point.

Our guild has changed the look of the tabard a few times. And for a good reason. It's still a little bizarre, but it's getting better.
I pref the simple icons over the extremely busy ones.
"Is that a dragon's face or a cup of eaten yogurt?"
Something recognizable like a chevron or a spade. Those are cool.

Luckily my guild's tabard is nice and understated. Red with white trim and the white eye logo on it. My only issue is that as a lock most of my gear is purple...talk about clash! Thus I wear my tabard of the protector as well.

Scout's Tabard FTW!

Fits rather nicely amongst my brownish druid gear ... our guild tabard is, has, and always will be ugly ;_;

Our tabard is green and yellow or something. It looks OK, but the thing is, I'm currently outfitted in my Robes of Arugal on my warlock- which as everyone knows, are the sexiest black robes in the game.
Green, yellow, and black?
No.
I look like a fruity christmas tree on crack.
I refuse to wear it.

I just wish that Blizzard would do something with tabards for non-pants wearers. For example, if you're wearing a robe the tabard gets tucked into your robe somehow, and it doesn't IMO look very flattering.

I'm sticking with my Scryers tabard- basic black and gold, goes with practically any Rogue gear in the game.

My current guild's tabard is all white, with a red cross in the middle. I don't like it, and I don't want people to think I'm a healer. :)
So, I just wear the other ones, depending on my gear. When I was wearing 4/5 Stormcaller (which is red and orange) I always wore my Scout's Tabard, which is also red and orange, so I looked really badass. Screenshot here: http://baluki.blogspot.com/2006/10/45-stormcaller.html
Now that I've gotten rid of all my old lvl. 60 gear, I've found that the Frostwolf tabard matches my stuff the most. Or should I say, it looks the least crappy with my mishmash of quested gear.

I really like the Tabard of the Hand, which you get in a lvl 20 Draenei quest on Bloodmyst Isle.

Most of the time, complaining about the tabbard tends to be a sore spot for guilds. People complain, those that made the design feel insulted.. drama insues.
I have my bank mule send my guild tabbard. If it looks good, I wear it. If not, I send the tabbard back to my mule and wear the pvp tabbard (alliance pvp, or horde frostwolf). 9 times out of 10 I pick my own since it goes with my gear anyways.

My Warlock is in a clown's mix of blues and greens from outland - so I don't mind covering up most of his gear with the tabard, but my Pally is in full Ornate/Heavy Mithril and looks awesome - I don't want to cover that up. I do like how they gave the Draenei the starter zone quest for the tabard, that's pretty cool to flaunt and say "yes, I really did do EVERY quest on the islands".
