Our guild on Earthen Ring is very helpful. They are always making bags, enchants, and sending Mats to those who need them. We even send gold from our higher toons to the lowbies.

My old guild, The Last Battalion, gave me a lifestone for christmas 2 years ago. It was random, but I got the good gift, lol. Other than that, the generosity that ive seen is in helping others out with quests.

Yes! this is quite common, if you join good guilds. I just joined a guild and everyone is extremely nice, taking me through instances, answering questions, etc. Infinite Axiom Rules!

Yes, it is common. Leveling up from 60 to 70, we all shared drops with each other. I still ask if anyone needs a green drop before mailing to my AH alt. I didn't join a proper guild until 60 so I don't have much experience as a lowbie, but I did have one guy try to give me a ton of blues when I was about 30. I actually turned him down because I felt like I wanted to level up myself, though I did accept a couple 14 slot bags from him, which is huge at 30.

Really depends on what guild you join...
Ninjas and Noobs on Mug'Thol-A is really great, sending some useful items, helps in questing, sends money if needed (got help getting Eye of Flame at lvl 48, it was only on AH for a limited amount of time and managed to get the 100g minimum within time for my 49 twinking), and really just anything they can do to help you out, plus we all just have a great time...

Other guilds I've been in just really want to have some people to talk to, which is fine and all, but getting into a guild that actually helps in a variety of fields is fairly awesome...

I love to help other members out. So unless i desperately need it ill give it away. Whatever It might be.

Last night instead of AH'ing my 10 stacks of netherweave cloth. I gave them to a friend who I knew could use them more then I could.

Recently ive been asking the guild for runecloth so I can get my exodar rep to exalted (i hit it last night!! woot!!). More then a few members sent over stacks upon stacks of free runecloth. The guild i'm in is very good for that sort of thing. If we pickup a BOE green or blue we ask the guild before vendoring, AH'ing.

Last bit of kindness... The guild asked me to be the guild JC since we dont have one. Every once and awhile ill check my mailbox and find LOTS of mats. Its been helping alot!

I've gotten to be pretty good friends with most of the higher ups in the guild I am in and one of the co-guild leaders (husband and wife team) sent me the Turtle Scale Bracers, Chest, and Gloves for free. Damned good stuff to tide my pally over until I hit 40 and can get plate (which I have alot of now thanks to runs of Ulda and RFD from a fellow guildie).

It really depends on your guild. I personally will hand stuff off to folks who really need it, and there's generally a bit of money passed back, though usually far less than I could get from the AH. It all boils down to respect on all sides, and pretty much every guild I've been in has rolled like that.

Back when they were still hot stuff, my friend gave me a free Chromatic Cloak for my Destruction Lock. Needless to say, I was surprised. Saved me a good 600-700G.

In my guild we go out of our way to make every warlock a Soul Pouch(a 20 slot Soul Stone bag). One of our members somehow finds alot of greens and blues for everyone, heck most of my rogue gear is stuff that hes found.

this isn't a guild thing, but once while i was waiting for a zeppelin, someone commented that my armor sucked, and gave me 5g and made me promise to spend it on armor. while being sort of an insult, it was still generous.

If it's an item that I found at random than why not give it away to some one that I like in my guild, etc. These things are luxury and bonuses for making gold. I expect to get my old the good old fashion way, working for it by my professions and running instances, etc.

I play 8 alliance classes. One L59, five characters in their early to late forties and two L34 characters. If I find a nice BoE item that is well suited to one of my characters it goes there. Otherwise it goes to the AH.

I believe that freebies should be a reward for doing well. If players are active, helpful and are making progress in one of my guilds I'm all for using a guild bank to help them. As I am not in a position to assess the performance of guild members at much lower levels I don't distribute gifts impulsively.

One of the more useful things guild officers can do is review gear, builds and skills of guild members in order to identify genuine need. If a member is struggling to level or complete quests because of an inferior talent build, fixing that may be more useful than upgrading gear. If you find a member without a gathering skill who is broke because of the expense of leveling up two production professions the solution is not freebies but giving up one or both of those production professions.

I like the idea of equipment donations playing a role in a coherent member development program rather than being a more or less random bolt from the blue.

just recently i started WoW (2 weeks ago), my first char a lvl 36 warlock, i think is doing good thanks to my guild, i had a 20slot soul pouch at 25, and at lvl 30 a guildie was running me in SM and he got disconnected, i had no problem with this cuz he was being nice anyways, but to my surprise the next day i opened my mail and found a mooncloth bag and 6g as an aoplogy, i was astounded, and the next time he ran me (the first time i finshed library) Illusionary rod dropped for me (thats lvl 34 i found at 33), when im getting "ganked" the high lvls come and help me. And thanks to them i have around 100g at lvl 36. ( And this is my first char, imagine how they must be to ppl who theve been with for years). BIG UP THREE CAPPA ON SHADOWMOON

in my guild (for mostly 2 years) I got many gifts and give many things.

It's just what happens when you find good and nice people. and they are many.

If I ever get a blue that won't sell at auction I will do a /who and send it to the appropriate class/level to a random person that is online at the moment.

I just joined an Alt guild on Burning Legion-H Buttered Monkeys. Everyione is really nice and the GM always gives stuff to us from his main i am a lvl 17 mage and have 3 16 slot bags its really awesome. He also made me a ton of armor.
