Guys who play WoW should not be labeled as un-dateable geeks... Not only is my boyfriend a WoW player, but he got me addicted and now I play way more than he does! :)

This whole thing about ppl that play WoW can not possibly have a girlfriend is rediculous. I have a fiance that has been with me for about a year of playing, as i can't get her to play she still is there. I could see this possibly being true with other MMO's but WoW makes it possible to solo the whole thing so that puts you in control of your playing time which means you have control to get off and spend time with you girlfriend when you choose. This is just sterotypical of the ppl that are hardcore gamers that spend all of their time trying to get the best gear and to try to be the best player or guild on their respective server. But that is not the case for all ppl so it really angers me when ppl say things like that.

I have a fiance and she plays as well. We got hooked from another couple that plays more than we do! Our gm has another family man who is married with a newborn who somehow manages to find time to play... You can play an hour or two a day, enjoy wow and enjoy a healthy relationship all at the same time.

I recently started dating someone new and when women aren't particularly interested in video games.. WoW takes a tumble. Needless to say my time spent in WoW has plummeted considerably, and slowly come to an end.

I played wow this morning and I am going out with my fiance tonight. Wow has to many players to stereotype. Most of the players I play with have girlfriends/wifes. D&D....thats another story. J/k

My wife and I play together and separately, but I think she may be starting to become more into the game than I am, which is weird. I am the gamer in the house, but she is totally digging WoW. Woot!

Just shows a lack of comprehension on their part.

Pretty much every one of the people in my guild has a wife/girlfriend.

Maybe I do spend a bit of time grinding for that epic flying mount.

But I'm pretty sure it's better than trolling for diggs to make a derogatory comment on, in attempt to make myself feel more superior.

Or maybe that's just me?

I solved my problem - my gf and I both play. Of course now it's a fight over whether we play Alliance (where her 70 is) or Horde (where my 67 is). We're both working on alts though. Oh, and since she currently lives halfway across the country - vent for hearing her voice, and chat for the things you might not want overheard...make for a real nice way to stay in touch daily.

I got together with my boyfriend because I saw him playing WoW, and it was pretty enough I wanted to join. Ended up spending so much time together playing that, well, stuff developed.

This guy on the digg site is just pissed because he does what society tells him to do to be cool and he is still unhappy because all the girls he meets are club rats and more superficial than him.

I started playing WoW when my boyfriend and I were just friends. Now we're going out. I know a guy with a fiance who doesn't play WoW, and I think I actually know more girls who play WoW than guys...go figure.

If you can't keep a girlfriend because of WoW, you are either playing too much and ignoring her, or are dating the wrong girl. As much as I would love to get my g/f into WoW, I've accepted that she's just not into it. However, she asks me about it even though she doesn't know much about it. She'll ask, "Have you gotten to 70 yet?" She also thinks my non-combat pet collection is cute. Bottom line-- some girls are turned off by WoW or the idea of you playing WoW. Solution-- don't date those types of girls. The worst thing you can do is hide your WoW addiction and have her find out about it and not approve. The best thing you can do on a first date is wear a faction specific t-shirt, a "?" turn in hat, and tell her to come get her quest rewards. If she laughs keep her.

My boyfriend and I both play. We've been dating for 2 years and have played WoW for a little over a year with no problems. Oh yeah, I'm the one who got him to play as well. :)

WoW attracts such a wide variety of players that the "only huge loser nerds play video games" mentality doesn't apply anymore.
