Death by elevator
Don't lie now. Darksavior on Norgannon does a humility check: raise your hand if you've been killed by the Undercity elevator.*Raises hand.* For some reason, my characters are particularly suicidal. Or maybe just accident prone.
And it's not just UC-- Azeroth is filled with crazy death contraptions. Have you died jumping off the Zepplin, or falling down off of Thunder Bluff (or that elevator)? I died once by walking off the top of one of those plateaus in Thousand Needles, and once by falling into Un'Goro crater. I even died in the Gnomeregan elevator, and a friend and I jumped off of the Stonewrought Dam just for fun (although that time, I think we lived because we fell in the water). I'm pretty sure that, way back on the first time I ever played this game, I even died (maybe even for the first time) by jumping off that tall tower in the Night Elf starting area.
And Outland is no exception-- have you jumped off of Outland yet? I have. I don't think the elevator in the Mechanar has killed anyone, but there are a few good drops in Nagrand, and the drop off of Hellfire Citadel is trouble. And if you didn't finally buy your flying mount at 70, fly up as high as you could, and unsummon it just to see if you could summon it again on the way back down, you're a better man than I am. What other ignoble deaths have you suffered from-- or should I say strangely enjoyed?

Don't forget the Aldor Rise elevator. That thing always seems to start it's down trip a second before I reach it.

"OOOOO Theres the elevator going down from Telredor, but it's leaving. I can still make it!" 6 seconds later, death by sudden stopping. Yea, I've done that more times than I care to admit to.

#2 Ever since I was able to fly I stopped using that elevator due to how dangerous it is.

I used to regularly die when teleporting to Gadgetzan and being dropped 200ft up in the air (until I figured out how to use the parachute cape). And there's always a little pile of bones under the drop point to show that I was far from the only one.
I did, however, manage to jump off the top of Telrador and live! Parachute cloak then free-fall, I survived with around 5% HP.

The alliance outpost elevator in Zangarmarsh is fun...not only does it go up/down, but it moves away from the landing point before descending...better not be late for that one or you're falling through empty space.
Oh, and I nearly killed myself (7k health) in Shattrath - I thought I'd gone far enough along the bridge that the ramp down to the flightmaster should be there...and walked off the edge falling all the way to Lower City.

If it weren't for all that water in Booty Bay my character would have died many a time after getting of a Gryphon and being too lazy to walk down all the ramps from the Gryphon Roost.

I think the best one happened when I finally got to respec back to resto. Best thing about druid flight form is that you can run off the cliff and THEN go into bird form and fly away safely. But when I respecc'd resto and gained tree form... it shifted my key binding for bird form one more over... which I didn't realize until I plummeted from Scryer rise all the way down to Lower City as a tree -_-

I thank god every day that I'm not Aldor, because I know I'd be paying a ton of gold just on repairs from missing the elevator.

As many a beginning night elf can attest to, my first falling death was off the wall around Darnassus. I fell, hit a tree, healed up as thought I could still survive, fell again and did a face plant into the rocks below. I died quickly. But then even worse, I swam out to sea, died again, and cicled the island before figuring out what a spirit healer was for. Although it was kinda fun to jump off the wall as a wisp....

Apparently, when you're at the top of that huge tower in Feralas where you buy the parachute, it is a bad idea to pop that thing as soon as you jump, as it has a timer on it. I learned the hard way.

Remember that when you fall, its a percentage drop from your health and not your a finite amount of hit points. So it wont matter if you have 7 health or 7k health.

Don't forget the quest that starts in STV and ends up in Hinterlands with you jumping off a massive cliff into spotty water surrounded by large turtles 10 levels higher than you.
All for a stupid 14 slot bag.

As a mage, I am finding it particularly fun during lulls to fly to the highest floating rock in Netherstorm, and jump off.
At the end, I try to blink or Ice Block out of it. Got its useless, but there is something about it that makes it fun.
For the love of god, Blizzard should give engineers a steerable parachute that lasts more than 10 seconds. You could all sorts of stupid guild events using those!

have died too many times missing the elevator coming down from Telredor... thinking I could make the jump to the elevator just as it was pulling away. Needless to say not such a good thing to do.
Nearly took the dive in Shattrath City when leaving Aldor Rise but recalled seeing the pile of bones below and thought better of it.
and one time took a death when up on Twin Colossals in Feralas when I blew the parachute too early. A long and slow fall to would I could only consider to be a very painful death. But I'd go again if I passed by that area again ^_^

Remember to stop running *before* you accept a res. That's the closest I came to falling off Zangarmarsh (so far, I'm sure it will happen tho'). When I fell off the Bluff the first time my tummy flipped.
...I can't stop giggling @7!

Some guildies and I were doing some Halaa PvP when we saw a roost go up where Ally was starting to bomb the town. So I jump on my flying mount to rush to the roost to intercept the player when he lands. I hit the space bar to start flight towards the roost and fly over the ravine to get to him.
Uh, well, the problem was I wasn't on my flying mount, I had accidently mounted my land mount and when I hit the space bar to fly I instead jumped headlong into the ravine and plummetted to my death on the rocks below.
