With every new expansion comes a new mob to hate. Pictured here is my most hated mob for The Burning Crusade. Found in the Shadow Labyrinth of Auchindoun, these Fel Overseers hit cloth really hard, and have a very annoying Intimidating Shout fear effect that is annoyingly resistible and resets aggro on the tank until the tank is back in melee range. When I say "annoyingly resistible" I mean that I often resist it, and the tank doesn't, so the tank is halfway across the room and I'm being stabbed at for for 1,200 to 1,900 hit points per swing, with a very nice critical hit one time of 4,796. My favorite part is how this thing is classed as a "demon", but immune to both Banish and Enslave. The best method I've found for dealing with them is to make sure everyone is in very short range, so everyone gets feared, including the healers. Hunters are excused if they can feign fast enough to achieve the same effect. This generally means the mob will follow the tank around. Since there's no warning, and he hits so hard, trying to stay in berzerker stance to have anti-fear abilities up is somewhat hazardous. The cool down on the fear is very short, on the order of 30-45 seconds, so even fear ward and berzerker stance will eventually be on cool down when the fear hits. If I don't get feared, I either will try and drain-tank the big guy, or simply run after my tank, so the tank is in melee range as soon as the fear fades. Either way has about a 75% success rate, where success is me not needing a rez at the end.
So, The Burning Crusade has been out for about a month now, have you found a new most annoying mob?

Most annoying mob:
Agreed on the Fel Overseers, though the last time I went was with a Draenei priest and a palli tank. Fearward is nice to have around. :D
Most annoying place:
Blackwing Coven, die there and spend the next 20 minutes walking to your corpse...

"dampfkammer" would be the steamvault
the fel overseers aren't all that bad - a tremor totem works wonders :)
the most annoying mobs in tbc are the "not classified" ones in arcatraz, they just hit too hard for trash mobs

i haven't gone everywhere yet, but the most annoying one for me so far has been the warp stalkers. easy to kill yes, but they have that damn invisibility and just attack from nowhere. i feel like i'm getting ganked from a rogue every time one attacks me.

Most annoying for me are the mobs in Coilfang Res (and other places) that seem to be able to fear, but also seem to negate my fearward.
Thanks, bliz.

I hate those Darkcasters in Mana Tombs, although I heard they got a little nerf in yesterday's patch.

Blade's Edge Mountains, the nether drake. Very high shadow resistance. Very annoying for shadow priest.

My most hated mob so far are the sand worms. Sometimes they attack without coming out of the ground, which is just bad for me.
Most hated boss is the first boss in slave pens. He keeps dropping totems that heal and make him more resistant to spells. First time I killed him was with a druid tank, a druid healer, a shaman, and a hunter. It took us nearly 5 minutes to take him down because no one was taking out the totems. Finally I stopped dpsing and tookout totems, then went back to casting. This probably would have worked better if the hunter had attacked the totems and let me continue to cast. So long as I was being healed I had an infinite supply of mana via life tap.

As a Holy Priest the most annoying is anything that heals itself...the fights go on long enough. Darn those trees...

Those "Joust" ostrich riders from Shadowmoon Valley. I mostly solo, and those are the only regular mobs that I really hate to fight. Kill the rider then... BAM! an ostrich is poking you. With his beak.

I nominate this for comment of the week hehe =P
I'm a 62, so I haven't come across most of the mobs you guys dislike, but for me it's probably hellboars, since I came to hfp with my huge aggro radius at 58.

I've only gotten in so far as Zangarmarsh and the Slave Pens - but the most annoying, hated mob I now have - the nagas. Those stupid slaves never seem to break off engagement after I kill their master, and the nagas are so tightly packed I'm almost guaranteed of pulling more than I want...oh and don't get me started on the ones mixed in with the carnivorous fish underwater... Nagas have surpassed Murlocs on my hate-list.

Oh yeah - I second the blood elf ostrich riders. The area is prone to adds (including those stealth adds or the flying things) so you are like to have already fought two or three, but after killing the rider (who is tough - not a pushover) the darn bird is on you and it is just as tough as the rider.

If you do anything to damage the slaves, then they will continue to attack you after their master is dead. Further into the zone, this is no longer the case, they will continue to attack you no matter what.
About the hawkstrdier riders, there were also fel orcs riding wolves like that in Hellfire Peninsula. You would attack them, they would dismount and then you would be fighting both the rider and the mount. I thought this was kind of a cool idea and should be implemented on hunters. I think it would be cool to be able to tame you're own mount, and then be able to use said mount in combat if needed.

My group 4-manned the boss:
shadow priest (me)
oomkin
mage
hunter
I don't remember our lvls... The oomkin went to bear and tanked with no points in feral. The fight was taking for ever and we wiped the first time. On the second time, I mana burned him between heals till he was oom. Then I would watch for him to get a bit of mana and then do another mana burn. The fight was so easy with the mana burning bc he couldn't spam totems. Since he doesn't have much mana it's easy to keep him burned. Obviously, a warlock could also drain mana.
@ OP
Yeah I'll agree with some of the other posters that the shadow casters in mana tombs suc. Their mana burn has an insane range and really jacks up my mana pool. Then when they die they only give like 200 xp. And the things they summon have like a 9s silence. Disclaimer: I might be getting some of my mobs and mob names mixed up here bc I only ran mana tombs once.

I am unfamiliar with the shaman class, so I wasn't sure if mana had anything to do with totems or not. Good information to know.
Drain mana is useful against mobs with little mana, but bosses tend to have large mana pools and it can take forever to drain all the mana from a boss. I think there is a talent that improves drain mana, but I don't remember exactly what effect the talent has. I'm completely destruction built, so I don't know much about the other trees.
I think all the mobs in Coilfang resivior have been dificult (I have only run Slave Pens and Underbog). I am interested to see if the "retuning" Blizzard did to the mobs in these instances made them easier or harder.

Mutate Fleshlashers in the Botanica (or as we refer to it - the Satanica). Non-elite, hit cloth wearers for 2000, unable to be CC'd unable to be feared - and the mobs that come with them summon more.
There are three groups that have these things in them between Satyr Guy and Giant Flower. Few parts of any dungeon do I dread more.

For the people annoyed by the mobs on wolfback/ostrichback/etc... If you can sap or incapacitate them before they aggro, the mount will disappear and you only have to deal with the rider. At least, it was that way earlier. Not sure if that we patched or was meant to be working that way.
