Reader UI of the Week: January 31 to February 6
Once again it's time for the ever-increasingly popular Reader UI of the Week. This week brings us something special, in that these teeny-tiny images link to GIANT MONSTROUS IMAGES. This is the widest screen setting I've seen so far. Be warned, clicking opens massive real-sized images that are about 2 megs each.
I go searching for addons every week now to try and find answers to problems I might be having or have had in the past. A big one is I tend to miss my buddy's and my health (because its so far to the left :p) so sometimes we wipe because of that. I haven't found an answer to that yet. Other problems in the past have been how many mobs to lvl (i like grinding mobs when i'm a few bars away), what loot a boss drops ( when i was making my twink this came in handy) and flight times (so i can go get a drink or snack real quick). I use all these things alot and dont know how i went through 30 lvls without them :p Ive attached 2 shots. One of my UI the other shows the beautiful screenshots I can take that a single 19" monitor could not take. Recent Posts

That's pretty much the worst idea i've ever seen for a WoW UI. Ever.
Yeah, I totally want my stuff cut off in the middle of the screen. Totally.
Oooh you get great perhiperal views... but the action in the middle is chopped in half by huge chunky bezels unless you've got some sort of monitor setup that doesn't have half an inch of bezel on the side.
No thanks.
I have two monitors, a 19" and a 22". I put WoW in widescreen on the 22" and I've found I have more than enough space. I keep wowhead/wowwiki/etc up on the 19" and I can keep up locations, maps, loots, and everything else necessary without having to tab around. I suppose if I wanted to get gimmicky though I could have the monitors COMBINE FORCES RARRRRRR and make one super long monitor... but why?

Odd that I was just reading this thread on the Discord Mods forum about a guy running a dual monitor setup at 3840x1200. Looks pretty impressive:

Yeah, I couldn't handle that. One thing I absolutely need is to be able to see the whole screen at any given time. With this setup, your neck would probably get sore from all the swiveling back and forth. As he said, his healing reaction time suffers if he's not looking directly at the healing bars at the far left of his display.

There is no way in the world I could play this game with the LCD bezel cutting my character in two. I'd rather play on my lowly 17" LCD.

i'm always surprised when a readerUI FEATURE features a UI with such things as default action bars. to each their own i suppose.

Some folks really like the default UI bars. I just love that the screen shows the biggest gnome I will ever (EVER!) see in WoW.

I'm all for dual monitors, with all the info from the game on one screen, thott/wowhead on the other, with some picture and picture movie action.
I'm surprised no one has submitted a UI with skinner. Skinner with some rounded buttons is pleasing to the eye.

I like the bigness.
And that's about it. It certainly has the same style and continuity of the default ui, but that's because it is. Duh.
As a ui, it's not really original, although he does have some feature enhancing mods, they just aren't very visible ones.
I guess I should really get around to sending in a shot of my ui now so I don't sound like just a mean troll : )

I don't like spanning it across two monitors but three works really well. My roommate has the matrox triplehead2go thing that lets him span the screen across the monitors and it works really well for him. It keeps his central character on the middle screen so he can monitor that at all times and then the other two to the sides help out for incoming. It's pretty nice and works well. I'll have to get him to submit his ui so you can see it.
Also, as mentioned before besides using two monitors this guys UI is basically just the Titan set which basically everyone uses.

HOW DO YOU DO THAT! Ive been using my brand new dual 19" LCD setup now for a few weeks, and have never found the ability to stretch the game accost the two screens and have it run correctly.
I (should) have a strong enough video card, as I have a Radeon 1900 XTX 512mb. along with an additional 2GB of ram in my system.
What do you use to accomplish this feat?

Does your vid card have 2 monitor ports on it? I am not aware of another way to get it across both. Ive got a 7800GTX vid card with duel monitor ports so I plug em in there.
Thx for featuring my UI!!

Completely off topic, but I'm once again irritated by a friggin' ripoff name. Please, people, some originality would be nice!

He probably uses SLI (two video cards). That'd personally drive me nuts though.
I prefer just running WoW on one and Vent / mIRC / etc. on the other. heh
