WoW + Wii = WiiCraft
Now this is interesting. Take your Nintendo Wii remote, hook it up to your mac via a free program called DarwiinRemote, and run World of Warcraft. If you're wishing for Warcraft on the Wii, you've... kind of... got it.
He says you can also do this with a free Windows program (that should be Wiindows, actually), but as he shows, I still think it's more of a novelty than an actual control scheme-- he doesn't answer the question of how to actually talk to anyone, and I doubt that by moving the little remote to click all your spells that you can actually get anything done quickly, but for grinding it might be OK. But even as a novelty, it's a pretty nice, extremely easy little hack. Nice job, Wiicast guy.

For now I think ill stick with the keyboard. I can't imagine being any good at PvP with that. No hotkeys.
cool that it works though

Ok I don't have a Wii but I can't wait to see where the development goes to getting more functional controls out of this. I think it would be a nice change standing in front of the TV instead of lounging on my butt to play WoW. If we could get gesture recognition for shortcuts that would be bitchin', but that is probably a pipe-dream.

i think its funny how when he tries to run at the end of the video he is all over the place. I like the mouse, like the earlier post PVP will be much faster with keyboard/mouse.

Gesture recognition, and a DDR pad for movement. All of a sudden this becomes arguably the *best* way to play WoW - with a decent gesture recognition system, you've got 40-50 commands at your fingertips.
This is on my to-do list for 2007, once I have a Wii, on my LCD TV.

Hey thanks for posting my vid! Yeah it's not great for PVP but it's a lot of fun for basic grinding and whatnot. if you hit the trigger (B) button it opens up the chat bar. But like i said in the Video it wont replace my mouse and keyboard for PvE until i can fully map the buttons. BTW my name IS Pooch AKA Fozziebear53 and my WoW handle is Phido. Lvl27 Warlock in Undermine...and no, i don't have any alts :)

It looks like a cool way to play games, im not too sure about wow though, after all the biggest element in that is chatting to people, so you need a keyboard. Then again blue tooth keyboards have been around for yonks, but switching to one could be a pain. If you happen to be in a ventrillo guild tho you might be on to a good thing.
