I honestly don't know how many days played I have across all my toons. Maybe around 130 or so? Probably more than that, and definitely more than I'd care to admit over dinner with my family next week. But certainly less than 200. And absolutely nowhere near 300. According to this thread, Stian, from the Destromath realm, has over 300 days played. The odd thing is, it took him a little over 40 days to reach level 60. That seems like a long time for the 1-60 grind. Maybe he spent a lot of time camping the Auction House while at work which contributed to his long days played to 60, and his rather notable days played. As you can imagine, the forum trolls were less than kind:
- Monkyman from Uldum claims that Stian pulled a Homer Simpson and had one of those little bobbing bird things hitting his keyboard to keep the toon logged into the game 24-7.
- Plenty of folks declared Stian to have absolutely no life. This response should be in the Forum Trolling for Beginners handbook.
- Another smaller group then defended him against the "haters". This response would be in the Advanced Forum Trolling 101 textbook.
- Many folks noticed that he has nine ranks of starfire on his hotbar.
- Finally, Taranis from Cho'Gall breaks out the South Park staple "How can you kill, that which has no life?"
What do you guys think? Did he pad his days played? And if he did, why in the world would he want to do that? Or is he simply the poster child for WoW addicts everywhere?

Maybe he stayed logged on for long periods to avoid the queues. I've known people to do that.

Well, AFK'ing counts too... On my warrior I've played 7 days or so, and I'm lvl 40. The real played time will be much less!

300 days on one toon is pretty epic. i have 235 or so days on my main and propably more than 300 if i bothered to count up the time played on all my alts (6 lvl 60s, 1 lvl 53, 1 lvl 35.)
the bulk of my time played on my main can be broken down to 3 things:
1. faction grinding. the whole 'exalted with steamweedle cartel' thing usually makes people cringe.
2. pvp'ing. back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, we would wait in queue for 45 mins to 1 hour between matches. that was just tons of time standing around in ashenvale dueling and occaisionally ganking some stuff in aszhara.
3. raiding. well, it does add up after a while. and when i'm not raiding, i might have to farm a little to get some cash or resources for raiding, etc.

So is there a place to go in WOW to find out how many days you played. I am asking this, but at the same time I am scared to know the answer because I don't really want to know how many days I have played - it might depress me!

Thanks...I am scared, and at the same time, anxious, to find out my playing time. Depending on what answer I get, I may have to change some New Year's resolutions...lol. Doesn't help that BC is coming out in January!

I have 2 60s and countless deleted alts that lived to see maybe 20 or 30. My first 60 has a /played time of around 50 days and my current 60 main has just over 30 days. On both toons, I hit 60 right around a /played time of 19 days. Take into consideration that the last 10 levels is probably close to 1/3 of the total time investment of the 1-60 grind, and that means that my many alts may have been deleted with a combined /played time of about 15 days.
Therefore, I'm guessing my total /played time of all my toons since May of '05 to be in the 100 days ballpark, give or take a handful of days.
BTW, I consider myself to be extremely casual with my play time, and I get plenty of remarks made at my expense for being our guild's Shaman class officer because of it.

Yeah, this guy did a LOT of AFK work to get that many hours. I've got 15 days and I've been playing since last Feb - at level 57 right now. And those are truly PLAYED hours - I don't hang out doing nothing, I don't queue for BGs, etc. If I'm on, I'm playing - and I'd say 15 days/yr of game time, really isn't all that bad. People waste a lot more than that on TV.

@9 If you have 150 days played in total, you've spent a lot more than 20 hours/week. For simplicity let's say the game has been out for 2 years, or in other terms, 730 days
150 played days means you've spent ~20% (150/730) of those two years in WoW. That's equivalent to 5 hours/day, or 35 hours/week
300 played days is equivalent to 10 hours/day!!! Personally I find that insane. My advise would be: "Try going outside once in a while"

I just celebrated my 100th day played on my main last week (at 101 days now) and with all my other alts I probably have 150 days played total - and I've been playing since Release. Granted, I don't play all the time, but I think I do average 20 hours a week easy. Typically I raid 2-4 times a week (about 6-18 hours there) and grind, level my alts the rest of the time. This guy doesn't really surprise me though, 300 days played on one toon really isn't difficult to attain if you put your mind to it, don't go out much, and aren't married/have a significant other. :D

Eheh, in about a 6 month period I have an accumulated time of....114 hours 52 minutes and 53 seconds (not including the time it took me to logout on each character). Most of that time was spent farming minerals and/or dueling while waiting for pvp. Nope, no life for me.

Between my two level 60s I have about 180 days played, and I've only played maybe 50ish hours since April '06. Im sure I'd have 300 real days played by now if I had been able to keep at the same rate. Still no epic mount... >.

I know for a fact that Warriorpoo (warrior, horde) on Blackrock has over 1 year played without cheating in any such way. Very impressive feat for anyone that can pull it off.

For the first 8 months the game was out I played around 40 hours a week (low ball estimate). I played every night after work for about 5 hours, about 7 hours on Friday night and somewhere in the area of 8 hours on Saturday & Sunday. I spent pretty much all of my free time playing WoW until I got fed up with not having anyone to play with (all my friends that I played with quit) and quit. This netted me around 55 days played. If I had continued to play at this pace I would now have about 170 days played.
I considered myself to be very hardcore in terms of time invested and I certainly upset a few people in late 04 early 05. Playing twice as much as I used to is insanity.
P.S. I now only play about 10 hours a week because any more than that and my girlfriend starts to freak out. While I'm glad WoW isn't the only thing I do for fun now I miss the all weekend binges during the winter months, oh well.
