I'm not disappointed. I think it's a little absurd to expect that they would retool the existing end-game content at the same time as the BC launch.

You can bet your sweet buttocks that they'll do it after some months go by and people complain on the official forums.

In fact, it's inevitible that they will redo them. Count on it. Just NOT on BC release day.

Shaz, You won't need to run any of them for loot come BC, random BC loot is better. What's more, very few people will *want* to run them anymore, except perhaps as a novelty. Those 40 man instances will be ghost towns instantly on BC release.

I'm disappointed - what will those of us working like mad to get to 60 to join raiding guilds do?

Oh, right.. 10 more long, boring-as-sin grind levels, albeit in the new lands... but still -- I'll never get to run MC, Naxx, AQ, etc unless I find a group of people willing to invest dozens (hundreds?) of hours into a 40-man raid instance that is essentially worthless... and its really, really disappointing. Is there going to be /that/ much new content for raiding in BC?

I'm not disappointed either. Now those who couldn't do them due to time constraints (i.e. majority of us) can probably go into them with a 20 or 25 man group at lvl 70 and enjoy the experience and encounters.

you won't be able to do places like naxx with a 25 man group, even at 70. lower tier areas (MC and parts of BWL, some early parts of AQ40) should be doable, but all of naxx is so timing and percision based that anyhting less than 40 will pretty much spell a wipe. but at least crappy fights like patchwerk will be easier to do.

Argent, I disagree. My guess is 25 well equipped 70s could roll Naxx pretty easily. How many well equipped 60s does it take to roll through Sunken Temple?

Blizzard CMs have guessed that 10 level 70s could take down Ragnaros. That's something I am sure we'll try for the novelty.

No one will be taking 40 to Naxx once BC releases. Folks will have better things to do with their time.

I am dissapointed that it is not on the cards to rebalance and re-itemize the current End Game instances any time soon, but I am not surprised either. No one expects the old content to change for the expansion but I have no doubt that they will be changed some time in the future. It is basically content that is new to 80% of players and with very little work (compared to creating new content from scratch) would please alot of them. Sure HC raiders will complain..but then dont they always.

ragnaros is a powder puff compared to even the weakest boss in naxx. that'snot even worht comparing.

lets see: anub is feasible with 25, GW sure as heck isn't (no changes still means she'll spam the hell out of her poison bolt volley, hitting 25 people in raid -- skimp on depoisoners and 70 wor not, you die), maexxna is more of a question of how much dps you can stack into a 25 man group while retaining enough healing as well as wall dps to get peoplle off of the cocoon wall. overall, i don't see that being too feasible either.

that leaves lotheb, 4h, sapph and kel'thuzard and those i don't think will be easy with a 40 man of lvl 70s.

in a 25 man raid you wind up having to make a lot of compromises. so bringing all the decursers, healers or deposioners you might need for any given fight (some of which are very much about positioning, insuring that 2-3 people can't hit all) isn't likely going to be feasible. a lot of these fights in naxx were menat to pretty much abuse people who used decusrsive and if they don't change that, forget trying to zerg it with a short-number raid.

patchwerk: heh. yeah, that's not gonna happen with 25. grubbulus is doable, gluth is sorta iffy and thaddius might be feasible on paper, but i don't see it being very viable (you run out of time and he owns all, etc)

razuvious is most likely doable, noth just plain isn't.

heingen might possibly be doable, gothik would be somewhat surprising if you could.

I heard someone talk about the fact that the last 10 levels you will be able to see a massive diffence in power as you level up. That there will be a massive diffence between each level and so the gap between a 50 and a 60 will be much smaller then the gap of a 60 to a 70. I cant rememeber where I heard unfortunatly, the quote was something along the lines of: 'Players will notice a larger difference in performance per level'. Which means that a level 70 will be more powerfull then we anticipate. Im not sure wheter it was the introduction of new spells/ talents but it seems intresting to contimplate.

How many guilds have actually finished Naxx? Seems a waste
to me .....

Maybe they could have the end-bosses of the old dungeons drop
the keys for new ones, something like that? Just slip a few
useful items into the loot-table to make a visit worthwhile?

Oh and how about something REALLY hardcore - what if a guild
just didn't install the expansion until the current end-game
content was done?

They have to do something, or there will be alot of content locked away from players who started leveling up there alt, or people who started on a fresh server.

Who will open the AQ doors, when you can just go to outlands for better level 60 loot? Who will farm LBRS for a key to UBRS? If you don't go to UBRS, noone will be attuned to BWL or Onyxia, so these areas will be locked away from all those characters. Who go with the Warlocks and Paladins who are doing there epic horse quest, in a dungon that noone goes to anylonger? Who will even have the key to DM on a fresh server so people can get in there for there quest? Without fixing these instances somehow, they are locking the content away from new players and people on fresh servers.

Mats- Your argument sounds a lot like "Who would get the SM key when you can level past it and gett better loot in Ulda?
as long as there are still important quests to do in there, ie class epic mounts, people will find a way to get in there, even if its just talking a group of guildies into helping them farm the mats for the instance keys.

Just like most have said, I am kind of disapointed but at the same time understanding about the decision. There is a lot of new content to tackle and hold our attention. I would rather they work on the new content then try and double dip and rework older content at the same time.

I do hope they will revamp some of the older zones, as I am sure there are people who want to see naxx and aq40... if only to say "i did it".

im a little disappointed, i work odd hours so i mostly play in the dead of night, and my weekends are full of work too, so i was excited when i heard the rumor that the 40 mans might be coming down to 25 man. alas, the rumor was debunked. looks like ill just have to have my work schedule changed to run MC/Naxx/Ony/AQ40 >_

I am a level 70 Undead Warrior on the Kael'Thas realm. I have raided Zul'gruub 8 times, AQ20 1 time, Molten Core 10 times.

This is my raiding experiance. Now, for other people who lack the experiances, having the old raids not revamped and tougher, gives us a chance to learn a little bit about what we are doing. I can see myself in a BC 25 man raid, albeit I can listen to the raid leader of the group, and do what he says, but I can't really count that as "practise". When I get into a raid dungeon I would like it to be basic enough to understand what I am doing, and learn all the factors of the raids, all the jobs for all the classes. I find that if the raid dungeons are changed to soon (Pre BC), raid rookies much like myself, will have one hell of a time getting the practise we need in order to be able to excel in the BC dungeons.

So to sum my confusing paragraph up, thumbs up to Blizzard for not revamping old raids at the same time BC was relased!

Who ever says faerlina cant be done is retarded... Just kill the adds with her in the beggining... and the tank can withstand the enrage easily. You have shamans, paladins and druids who can take away poison affects so it shouldnt be hard at all. Everything in there will be so much easier and yes noth can be done u just cant be a fucking noob.
