From thatgirlcaitlin on the WoW lj group, an old joke with a WoW twist..."Just beyond the Undercity a great Necropolis landed. Drawn by curiosity, the Lady Sylvanas herself went to see what it was. From within emerged a warlock.
With a booming voice he challenged the entire army of the Undercity. Intrigued, the Lady Sylvanis sent for her army and instructed them to meet with her in front of the Necropolis. Thinking that a mere 100 men could silence this warlock, she sent them in. As they disappeared from view Lady Sylvanas heard fighting erupt. Minutes passed and none of her soldiers emerged. The warlock walked out grinning. 'Surely you can do better!'
Slightly annoyed, Lady Sylvanas sent in 200 men. Again, as they disappeared from view, she heard the sounds of combat. Again, no soldier emerged. The warlock came into view obviously amused. 'I'm very disappointed.'
Furious over losing 300 men for nothing, Lady Sylvanas sent in her entire army, thinking this time the entire Necropolis would be razed to the ground. She listened to the fighting and when it finally ceased, one soldier emerged, obviously near the brink of death. As he staggered back to his Lady, he gasped 'It was a trap... there were two warlocks!'"

The above poster has obviouslt never faced a good and well geared warlock. Warlocks with the right build and gear are the top of the pvp food chain period. Rogue with PvP trinket, easy, skill coil and fear again. Burn rogues entire health bar with dot's shadowburn, and shadowbolt before rogue ever leaves fear.
Seriously, as a fury warrior, I know with my lifegiving gem, I have chance if they aren't using a succubus. I can intercept and lifegiving gem after the deathcoil and with deathwish, he isn't fearing me even once. And even then I will probably die to DOT's afterwards.

As a warlock, the banes of my existence are fury warriors (if I don't have my succubus, which I ALWAYS have when soloing, and NEVER have in BGs, I prefer felhunter) and rogues when Deathcoil is on cooldown or I get stunlocked. Fury warriors will burn through me even if Deathcoil is up without a succy. Hell, Arms warriors can typically kill me in the amount of time it takes for Berserker Rage to wear off. Ever been crit with a Drake Talon Cleaver?
I'm very glad I'm Horde too, because WotF would make for a very difficult fight against a rogue (Kaylos, an UD rogue is INFINITELY harder than any other rogue for a warlock; try it sometime). PVP trinket removes fear, while WotF makes them immune for a few seconds. As a rule, I fear rogues once and prepare to fear again, as the trinket only makes you immune for an instant.

Not saying warlocks are gods. I have been on the other end of the dmg a AQ40/Naxx geared warlock can do. I ahve about 5200 HPs, 6000 buffed in my PvP gear and have watched these warlocks literally rip me to shreds in seconds, much faster than I could ever kill them. (and yes I use Misplaced Servo Arm/The Castigator as weapons) Being alliance though, I can see why warlocks don't care for PvP on our side since there are so many undead on horde side. But with even gear, it might be a tough fight, I don't see a warlock losing to a rogue. None of the warlocks I have ever run with really were afraid of rogues, even undead ones.
And I have been crit with worse than a Drake Talon Cleaver. I have seen a HWL axe and a Severance literally rip over half my health off in a couple seconds, and I have 5200 armor. But that is a blizzard problem of dmg scaling much faster than survivability, another problem altogether. Any good team that can focus fire will kill any class in seconds. I watched a fire mage/warlock combo drop bear druids/wrath protection warriors in defensive stance in mere seconds.
In my experience, well geared Warlocks played well are a terrifying presence in BGs, and generally considered much higher priority to kill than even the best geared warriors.

That joke is an old one Louis Grizzard (a southern writer) used to tell, but instead of a warlock it was a confederate soldier and instead of the Undercity it was the Union army.
I like Louis' version better.
