Blizzplanet has a humorous article online about the symptoms...and consequences of WoW addiction. And we're not talking the usual consequences here, like loss of friends, poor eyesight, getting fired from your job...no, some of these folk have created a sort of Darwin awards category for WoW addicts.Like the surprising number of people who have left a pizza in the oven, only to forget about it in the midst of a WoW session & almost asphyxiate from the smoke (this is apparently now officially known as a "WoW Pizza"). Or kid who almost burned down his parent's house when his TV shorted out & caught fire a few feet behind him but he couldn't hear it for the WoW blasting out of his headphones. Even Blizzard employees apparently aren't safe, as they apparently have a bad habit of letting pastries explode in microwaves wile engrossed in their own game.
If you guys are like me, I know you've done some stupid stuff while playing MMO's. I once managed to spill an entire bowl of boiling-hot soup all over my keyboard while in the midst of a temple fight in Uldaman, rendering it immidiately useless and almost scarring my crotch for life. Fess up; what's the dumbest thing WoW ever made you do?

I know this article is meant to be in jest, but it sort of made me sad. I think it mostly illustrates how we must keep things in perspective.
Ignoring the advances of my wife because of WoW? God help me if that happens. I'd sooner delete the game altogether.

Not really a "forgetful" thing, but funny to us. My Wife and I were running MC for the first time. Somewhere around Garr, we glanced over our shoulder and noticed water coming from the bathroom.
Apparently the toilet clogged during the last 30 sec bio break. We took turns mopping and fighting. She'd heal, I'd auto attack, mop mop mop, next target, auto attack, mop mop mop.
The raid thought it was halarious.

**just kidding I built a house for a Lab size dog and my pup is a jack** not like she was suffering outside. Spoiled mutt.

I didn't realize WoW was capable of making you do things... I've done silly things because I was paying more attention to WoW than to my other surroundings, but I can't recall being forced into anything :-P

When was still low-level and hanging about in Dun Morogh, the postman rang the doorbell. I hid, ran to the door, signed the thing and thought I heard something attacking me. I slammed the door and ran back, tripped over the ONE stair that we have in our apartment and sprained my ankle. The funniest part was that as my husband was trying to look at my ankle and I'm crying on him I kept saying, "But am I dead? Did I die?" And if I remember correctly, he died because he had jumped up to rescue me but I didn't because I was hidden. :-)

the dumbest thing i've ever done in WoW: i spilled some juice on myself, was running around in an area ingame that had a lake and i thought, oh good, i'll just wash my hands in the lake. it wasn't till my hands hit the monitor that i realized it was a CG lake. d'oh!
