Obviously Blizz has a ton of crud on the brain what with the expansion and all, but you'd think that there'd be at least one or two or more people whose job it is to review previously established canon, or at the VERY least someone who would remember what they had already made. A tad disappointing to my mind.

Maybe they should've put the lore changes on a test server for the fans to check, since we already test the game engine for them.

Speaking of, the login servers have been down for four hours now. Tracerts are stopping at the AT&T connection that usually farts out when Blizz has ISP issues.

The backgroundstory isn't that huge. It would be diligent to have a simple database of races and characters with a brief description to prevent this and always have an editor fact check any story. Apparently Blizzard doesn't use the simplest safeguards and Metzen is less well versed in the backgroundstory than the average player. It again reinforces the image of Blizzard being improfessional, amateurish and not up to the task.

This is what I don't get. Because someone enjoys the lore and would like to not relearn new things about a story he or she particularly likes, and prefers not to see Blizzard blatantly contradict what's been written already...they're a Nazi.

Yet those who enjoy the lore don't have a single word to say to those who don't care about it.

Why do these people ALWAYS seem to have something negative to say?

I just hope it isn't yet another "greater" being. I'm tired of the easiest excuse being that so-and-so was just an agent of someone else. Sargeras is now just a pawn compared to Mr. UBER. And then in a year, oh, Mr. Uber is the weakest of the MONSTRO GODS. But the MONSTRO GODS are the servants of O-HI-DEE-HO. I guess to create a never ending universe that's what you have to do though.

Hahah yeah i especially like this one. What a pompus, inflammitory comment. Geez, what is Blizzard thinking, half-assing once again. I could go on for hours about how no one else there could have or is able to manage, develop and expand WoW as it is today. I don't put them on a pillar, but i wouldn't make such a typically pharisaical comment like the holier-than-thou who make it habit to do so here. Where's your billion dollar game, Mr. Hot Stuff?

This comes up all the time with science fiction writers. Something in book four of a series will contradict what was in book one, and the howls of outrage begin. There's a REASON many authors refuse to release 'technical manuals' for their universes, because they're too much hassle. One writer I know recently decided that a book written in the far future of his universe (to his outline, by another author) will no longer be canon, because his concept of the universe and where it needs to go has changed (which doesn't REALLY impact this book too much, the universe references in the book could have been changed to something completely different without substantially changing the story). Contrary to some people's expectations, writers DON'T always keep very close track of their previous work, especially if there's been a lot of writing since then. They're more concerned with writing the next story, although they'll try to keep some people around who can watch for major continuity gaps.
