You may have heard that
the upcoming Burning Crusade expansion will raise the level cap of the game from 60 to 70. But what doesn't seem
to be such common knowledge is the fact that you will receive ten additional talent points to spend, and that all of
the talent trees will be expanded to accommodate these extra points (likely providing each talent tree with a 41-point
talent). So, the question remains - what do you plan to do when you have ten extra talent points to throw around?

Wouldn't it be a 36 point tree instead of a 41 point?
Then you could have a 36/25 build rather than a 41/20 point build (which seems kind of imbalanced to me based off of current game style)

For a 36-point talent as the max, they would need to rearrange all of the talent trees again or you would be getting several of the better talents (based on the current 31-point talent trees) in the game; most of the impressive talents start at 21 for this reason. Right now you can't get both a 31-point and 21-point talent, if you did you'd be really powerful. A 41-point tree would preclude that from happening if you wanted your uber 41-point talent (and you'd already be getting the 31-point talent en route to 41).
Anyway, all of this is speculative. We have no idea what Blizzard is going to do with those last 10 points. Are they going to just add on to the existing trees, or will there be a new, fourth "hero" tree to go along with that rumoured hero class scuttlebutt...

Ten levels, ten talent points, two additional tiers to each tree. Coreiel was actually discussing the idea of "hypothetical 41 point talents" in the rogue forums yesterday (though the thread has since been deleted), so I would consider this to be very likely.
In an interview this week, the lead designer did note that "the level cap will be raised in The Burning Crusade, and we plan to extend the talent trees in the expansion" - so we do have confirmation of talent tree expansion, while hero classes have remained pure, unconfirmed speculation. (Well, Blizzard has mentioned hero classes, but not in the context of any specific implementation.)

Well, since my main's a mage, I'm going to wait until The Real Patch 1.11 comes out to say with any sort of authority what I'm going to do. Besides, I've been needing to sit down with the talent calculator and plot out a proper respec for the longest time.
By the way, have you ever noticed that guides to builds will lay out the build but never tell you what to get when? I guess that's because they're written for level 60 characters, where it doesn't matter *what* order you spend the points when respeccing. But what about those of us that aren't 60 yet and are trying to follow along? At what point would it make sense to say, step away from the Arcane tree for a few levels to stock up on some Fire pre-req?
Not that I can't figure that out myself. I just wonder why the people who write the guide don't bother.

Well if they introduce 41 point talents then obviously everyone will spend the 10 new points on the new talents allong the way to 41....

I think it would be interesting if they did make it a 41 talent point tree, with the last 10 ten points of any tree accessible only to those above level 60, effectively creating the 'hero classes'.

Ive been thinking about that alittle bit and discussing it with fellow rogues in my guild. I think that the burning crusade will be followed up with a nurf to rogues. I say this because if the extra 10 points are going to be added to existing trees, theres going to be alot of crazyness. The reason...Hemo or combat daggers (with Adrenaline rush)AND Seal fate! or even Hemo and Adrenaline rush. This combo of talents is going to be crazy. Im not too sure if the other classes are going to have the same crazy Boost thru talent points, but im just waiting for the cries of "nurf rogues" again...

Easy.
Lightning Reflexes (15% bonus to agility) and Trueshot Aura (+100 RAP) at the same time.
The next top tier talent will have to be VERY, VERY good for me to spec otherwise.
